Art- OC 01

oc art by catherine

Since I want to write ‘less’ on this blog from now on, I decide I’ll post up some random artwork. Most artists have a fixed ’Original Character’, a character that they developed from story ideas, a character that represents them like an alter ego or just random thoughts from the head. They also like to draw many original characters with no names. I’m not good at doing original characters with pretty costume. My art is still amateur state and very very ordinary and I see many mistakes with the anatomy *shrug.

Alright back to this girl with no name… I like this kind of hairstyle on girls. I think they look very active. I noticed I always draw characters facing to the right. Probably because it’s easier for my left hand. I really need to improve my poses and actions.. =.=” I want to do an OC girl for MeowStudio but have not decided on the hair, eye colour or even costume. Still thinking of it. Meowie (look at the banner above), the fat cat, is my mascot for MeowStudio but it doesn’t really represent my art well so I still have to find him an owner. An OC that is cute and active. A ‘cat girl’ is too ordinary and stereotyped to mean other stuff. Thinking thinking…
