I finished Jeremy & Jean’s Poster Graphic last thursday. They didn’t do any animation, but purely commissioned me to do a poster for their wedding.

Jean has been a regular visitor of Meowstudio since last year. I sketched a freebie realistic portrait for her last year and she contributed to the ‘Love Tales’ project. I was pleasantly surprised when she asked me to do a poster for her wedding this coming 7th July when she contacted me in Mar. It’s a good challenge for me since she requested to do a ‘full-bodied anime realistic style portrait’. The pose and attire is based on a wedding picture she gave.

I did follow the lines of the bodies but I still draw them out myself instead of tracing, so as to match the anime style heads. Besides, we are not supposed to trace at all. ‘Anime realistic style’ is actually not fully realistic or exact portraiture of the couple. My way of drawing is a mixture of realistic plus cartoony, example in the eyeballs and the nose. Eyebrows, shape of the eyelids, eyeballs and mouth are worked on to look similar to the couple’s.  I think I improved yet again for this style in this poster. Total time spent on it was two days. Thanks for giving me the chance to work on it, Jeremy and Jean! They really looked like a Prince and a Princess with her unique gown design.

(On the left) A view of the printed poster provided by Jean. The colouring is slightly different(darker) when printed. Nevertheless, it’s still clear and nice according to her.
