Have you done your Christmas shopping? I love December because it’s an eventful and joyous month. I get to celebrate my birthday and Christmas.

Had been busy these week with my brother-in-law’s wedding dinner on the 10th, hence this was how my birthday went on the 7th:

Vincent brought me to Seah Street Deli to eat. I didn’t particulary enjoy the food as I thought it will be better. I wanted to leave but the bill took a long time to come, so I waited impatiently. Well, the bill didn’t come but the jukebox played the ‘Happy Birthday’ song and my heart goes, “is that…is that for me?” Suddenly, waiters started singing and clapping. One of them brought me a small slice of cake with a candle. I was so embarrassed at everybody staring at me. This was the first time he ever did this for me so I couldn’t stop smiling at Vincent.

Then he took out a nice box and revealed this: MY OWN ARTBOOK printed!

I was REALLY surprised because I did mention it several months ago but I never expect he’ll actually wake up at 4am for two days to find, sort through all my messy folders of art and layout everything in 28 pages for printing. He had to do it very early in the morning because I happened to be rushing the story animation project and slept at wee hours in the morning.

To spring a surprise on me, he took a half-day leave in secret and went to Bras Basah to print one week earlier. Thereafter, he got the artbook on that day itself while leaving to go to the gents. (Bras Basah was just beside) It was risky since it’s so last minute but everything went well.

I really love the artbook so much. It consists of all my anime art done from Dec 05 til July 06. And he organised it very well into different sections. This is the best gift I’ve received in ages.

poster a touch of fateMy client, Terence and Daphne also celebrated their wedding on the 10th and this is the poster I made for the website based on their animation. Congratulations to Terence and Daphne!

This December is definitely an eventful one
with my first birthday surprise, my very own artbook, a wedding in the family, starting Meowstudio’s third year and finishing the last project for the year06.

Well, December is not ending yet. I hope that many more good things will come for me and everyone!

    Hi Cat,

I love December too because of Christmas. Everywhere is so beautiful with Christmas decoration and it is also holiday season.

Vincent planned everything so well, 2 surprises in a day. You must be very happy and proud of him.

Hee, thanks Meizhen, Linda and Chloe. Yup. I’m really touched and surprised since he seldom gives me surprises and usually, I could guess something from his face expressions. He’s so easily read. But this time, I’m really caught unaware.
